Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to this medication or its ingredients, or who have shown hypersensitivity to benzimidazole class drugs. Additionally, this medication should not be administered to patients taking medications containing atazanavir, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine. It is safest to refrain from using this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, as well as in the elderly. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, and dyspepsia may occur, as well as neurological symptoms like headache and dizziness. Occasionally, symptoms such as skin rash, fatigue, and myalgia have also been reported, so consult a physician if any unusual symptoms arise. Long-term use of this medication may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency, thus regular monitoring is needed. Prolonged use may increase the risk of gastric polyps or osteoporosis-related fractures, so it is recommended to use the minimum effective dose and duration. Additionally, prolonged use may result in hypomagnesemia, hence magnesium levels should be periodically checked. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may increase the risk of certain bacterial infections, so inform medical personnel if symptoms such as diarrhea persist.
