Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (excess calcium in the blood) or patients with sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disorder of unknown cause, as well as patients with kidney disease. Moreover, individuals allergic to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months, kidney stone patients, and those with severe renal failure should not take this medication. During treatment, it is advisable not to take medications such as phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracyclines, and antacids concurrently. Women receiving treatment, pregnant or potentially pregnant, and breastfeeding mothers must consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Special caution is necessary as Vitamin D can be secreted into breast milk, potentially leading to hypercalcemia in newborns. Patients with heart or cardiovascular diseases, kidney disorders, hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones should also consult with a specialist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash appear during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a specialist. Additionally, be cautious, as overdose may result in gastrointestinal symptoms, hypernatremia, heart failure, edema, etc. Long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia or stone formation, so regular monitoring of the condition is required. Co-administration with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene may increase the risk of hyperkalemia, so caution is warranted. Adhere to the prescribed dosage and avoid drinking tannin-containing teas such as green tea or black tea before and after taking the medication. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it in a cool, dry place, tightly sealed away from direct sunlight and moisture. It is also important to avoid transferring the medication to another container to prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the medication.
