Improves control of essential hypertension
In patients with essential hypertension, if blood pressure control is difficult even with combination therapy of amlodipine and valsartan, it may be necessary to consider additional treatment or medication adjustment. This medication effectively lowers blood pressure, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications and improve blood pressure control.
Take one tablet once daily with or without food. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) whenever possible. For patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with the amlodipine/valsartan combination therapy, administer this medication at 5/80/12.5 mg, and adjust the dosage considering the patient's blood pressure response at intervals of more than 2 weeks. The maximum recommended dosage of this medication is 10/160/25 mg.
This medication can cause serious damage to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who are deficient in sodium or fluids may face a risk of hypotension, so their condition should be thoroughly assessed before taking it, following the physician's instructions. Patients with elevated potassium levels or those at risk of increasing potassium levels need to frequently monitor potassium levels when taking this medication with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics. Special caution is required for patients with specific diseases such as heart disease or kidney transplant recipients while taking this medication. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, and low blood pressure may occur while taking this medication, so if symptoms are severe, consult a doctor. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication due to unknown safety, and particularly those who are nursing are recommended to stop breastfeeding.
