Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
For patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with combination therapy of Amlodipine and Valsartan, additional evaluation and treatment adjustment by a physician may be necessary. Essential hypertension is an important condition that reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases by managing blood pressure. In such cases, using other drug treatments or improving lifestyle habits can be beneficial. It is important for patients to have regular blood pressure measurements and follow treatment consistently as directed by their physician. Ultimately, it helps to manage blood pressure stably and maintain health.
This medication is taken once daily, 1 tablet, with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with Amlodipine/Valsartan combination therapy, the dosage of this medication is 5/80/12.5 milligrams, adjusted with at least a 2-week interval based on the patient's blood pressure response. The maximum dosage of this medication is 10/160/25 milligrams.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn during pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with impaired liver function or progressive liver disease should be cautious as there is a risk of hepatic coma due to changes in fluid and electrolyte balance. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously, as some components may accumulate in the body, leading to side effects such as azotemia. Patients who are hypersensitive to any ingredient of this medication, have certain serious liver or kidney diseases, or are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication. Patients with severe hypotension or certain heart valve diseases, as well as those in shock, should also refrain from using this medication. Patients with sodium or fluid deficiency should correct their condition before taking this medication and closely monitor their blood pressure and symptoms during treatment. If potassium levels are high or if using medications that increase potassium, potassium levels should be checked often and care should be taken. Patients with heart failure, myocardial infarction, kidney transplant patients, and the elderly should use this medication with special caution and start with a low dose. Symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and decreased blood pressure may occur while taking this medication, so it is crucial to consult medical personnel immediately if they arise. Rarely, serious blood abnormalities, liver function issues, and allergic reactions may occur; thus, any unusual symptoms should be reported promptly. This medication can interact with other drugs, so if taking other medications, it is essential to inform healthcare providers. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication, and those planning to become pregnant or currently pregnant should consult with healthcare professionals. In children, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established, so it should not be used. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension, shock, and electrolyte imbalance may occur; therefore, immediate hospital treatment is necessary. This medication must be stored out of reach of children, in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe allergic reactions, severe rashes with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, severe skin adverse reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough with fever and respiratory abnormalities, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme fatigue, liver dysfunction (jaundice).
Dizziness, headache, fatigue, swelling, palpitations, lightheadedness, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea, increased blood sugar, increased blood uric acid, increased blood creatine phosphokinase (CPK), increased blood triglycerides (TG), COVID-19, nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory infection, vasculitis, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, insomnia, mood changes, cough, rhinitis, hair loss, sweating, skin discoloration, hives, tinnitus, visual disturbances, bowel symptoms.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is advisable to maintain a storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature.
