Adjunctive treatment for insomnia and sedative effect
This medication is primarily used for the adjunctive treatment of insomnia and has a sedative effect. It can help those who have difficulty falling asleep or maintaining deep sleep. It may also aid in relieving tension and calming the mind. With these effects, it supports improving the quality of sleep and provides a comfortable night. Therefore, it is effectively used for the improvement of insomnia.
As Doxylamine Succinate, take 25 mg orally once a day, 30 minutes before sleep. Adjust appropriately according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be administered to patients with respiratory disorders such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and asthma. Patients with glaucoma should also avoid this medication. Patients with prostate enlargement should refrain from using this drug. Women who are breastfeeding should not use this medication. Children under 15 years of age should not take this drug. This medication contains lactose and should not be taken by individuals with genetic disorders such as galactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Individuals allergic to soybean oil, beans, or peanuts should also avoid this medication. When taking this drug, it should not be combined with specific medications such as imipramine-type antidepressants, anti-Parkinson's drugs, or disopyramide, as concomitant use may increase the risk of side effects such as urine retention or constipation. It should not be taken with other medications without consulting a physician or pharmacist, nor should it be used for more than two weeks. Excessive drowsiness may occur, so activities such as working at heights or operating motor vehicles should be avoided. This medication should not be taken if the patient is drinking alcohol or has recently consumed alcohol. Individuals who are pregnant or could become pregnant should consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. Patients with lipid metabolism issues, such as hyperlipoproteinemia, diabetic dyslipidemia, or pancreatitis, should consult a specialist before using this medication. This medication may occasionally cause side effects due to its anticholinergic action. Drowsiness may be induced, therefore, it is recommended to take it primarily at bedtime. If excessive drowsiness occurs during the day, it may be necessary to reduce the dosage. Patients with a risk of lipid overload should regularly monitor their blood lipid levels and adjust the dosage of this medication accordingly. When storing this medication, it should be kept out of reach of children and not transferred to other containers from its original container to prevent misuse or degradation in quality.
