Precautions
This medication should not be used by patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis, or those with kidney disease. Individuals with allergies to any of the components included in this medication should also avoid taking it. Babies under 12 months of age, those with kidney stones, and patients with severe renal failure should not take this medication. It is important not to take this medication with certain other drugs such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. Women receiving medical treatment, pregnant, or possibly pregnant, as well as breastfeeding individuals should consult a specialist before taking this medication, as vitamin D can be transmitted through breast milk leading to hypercalcemia in infants. Patients with heart or circulatory issues, impaired kidney function, hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones should also consult a specialist before taking. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Additionally, high doses of vitamin B12 can lead to blood-related side effects, so caution is needed. Excessive use can cause gastrointestinal disorders, hypernatremia, heart failure, edema, and long-term use can lead to hypercalcemia and stone formation. Care should be taken, especially when taken with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene, due to the risk of hyperkalemia. Adhere strictly to the dosage and avoid consuming tea containing high tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after use. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and maintained in a sealed container.
