Improvement in blood sugar control for type 2 diabetes
This medication helps patients with type 2 diabetes effectively control their blood sugar levels while managing diet and exercise. The two ingredients, empagliflozin and linagliptin, work together to improve blood sugar levels. Therefore, this medication is used for blood sugar management in type 2 diabetes.
The recommended starting dose of this medication is empagliflozin 10 mg/linagliptin 5 mg once daily. If additional blood sugar control is needed with acceptable tolerability, the dose may be increased to 25 mg/5 mg once daily. This medication can be administered without regard to meals, and the tablets should be swallowed whole. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered, but if the next scheduled dose is within 12 hours, skip the missed dose.
