Precautions

This medication must not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to any components of this drug. In patients with poor kidney function, this medication can remain in the body for a long time, so dosage should be reduced or administration intervals extended for careful use. Patients with heart diseases may experience cardiac effects from this drug, so careful observation of the patient's condition after administration is necessary. In patients with decreased liver function, symptoms may worsen, so caution is advised. Elderly patients are likely to have declining kidney function, which may increase the concentration of this medication in the blood, requiring dosage adjustments. This drug can cause serious allergic reactions or shock; if any abnormal symptoms occur during administration, it should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Serious side effects may occur with a decrease in blood cell count; regular blood tests are necessary. Symptoms of serious inflammation or necrosis in skin and mucous membranes may arise, and the drug should be discontinued immediately if skin abnormalities occur. Liver dysfunction or symptoms of jaundice may develop, so liver status should be regularly monitored. Rhabdomyolysis, characterized by muscle breakdown, may occur, and any symptoms of muscle pain or changes in urine color should be reported immediately. Abnormal electrical activity in the heart may lead to arrhythmias, so close observation of heart condition is required. Consciousness disturbance or seizures may occur, especially in patients with reduced kidney function, thus extra caution is needed. Inflammation of the kidneys or acute renal failure may occur, so if there are symptoms of fever, skin rash, or abnormalities in kidney function tests, administration should be discontinued immediately. This medication is used for the prevention of gastric bleeding during severe physical stress and is limited to use only in postoperative or severely ill patients. The treatment duration should be kept minimal based on symptoms, and if there is no effect, switching to other treatment methods is recommended. There may be interactions with other medications, so particular caution is needed when taking antifungal agents or certain chemotherapy drugs. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this drug. Breastfeeding women are advised to discontinue breastfeeding as this medication can be passed into breast milk. Safety in pediatric patients has not been fully established, so caution is advised in use. When using an ampule, it should be cleaned properly to avoid contamination with glass fragments. This medication can mask the symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should only be used after confirming that the condition is non-malignant.
