Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area gently 3-4 times a day. However, if dressing is applied, it is advisable to reduce the frequency to about 1-2 times a day.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in individuals who have an allergy to fusidic acid or have specific bacterial infections. People allergic to antibiotics or additives should also refrain from using this medication. When using this medicine, it is recommended to check sensitivity and use it for only the minimum necessary duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria. It is not recommended to use this product on the inner facial area, such as the eyes or eyelids. If skin reactions like itching, redness, swelling, or blisters occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. This medication is absorbed well through the skin, so care should be taken when using it for prolonged periods or over large areas. Even if resistance develops with local use, the bacteria generally regain sensitivity to this medication thereafter; however, resistance can cause issues when administering orally later on. It should not be used for ophthalmic purposes. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. Breastfeeding women should also be cautious as this medication may affect the newborn. Especially for premature or newborn infants, prolonged use or use over large areas can result in liver dysfunction due to underdeveloped liver function, thus it should be used with care. Transient burning sensations, rashes, or pain as hypersensitivity reactions may occur upon using this medication, so if such symptoms develop, usage should be stopped immediately and a professional should be consulted. Patients with severe leg ulcers should be cautious as pain may worsen with the use of this medication.
