Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with primary glaucoma, angle-closure, or shallow anterior chamber. Using this medication in such patients may increase intraocular pressure and pose a risk of acute angle-closure glaucoma attacks. Patients with an allergic reaction to any component in this medication or children under 4 years old should not receive it. Patients with certain conditions such as Down syndrome, brain injury, spastic paralysis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, bladder dysfunction, and acute pulmonary edema should use this medication cautiously. Special attention is required for patients who are sensitive to belladonna alkaloids, have a history of hypersensitivity to atropine, and are sensitive to anticholinergic drugs. Long-term use of this medication can lead to irritation symptoms such as inflammation, redness, and swelling of the eyes, and in severe cases, serious side effects such as respiratory depression and hypotension may occur. Cases of coma or death have also been reported in children, so extra caution is necessary. Additionally, this medication can cause mydriasis and cycloplegia, leading to blurred vision; therefore, it is advised to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery during use. Increased light sensitivity may necessitate wearing sunglasses in bright environments. Children and guardians should take care to prevent the medication from coming into contact with the mouth or skin, and it is important to wash hands thoroughly after use. This medication can increase intraocular pressure; hence, it is essential to check intraocular pressure and the condition of the eyes before use, especially in the elderly or patients at risk for glaucoma. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication only when necessary, as its effect on the fetus or newborn is unclear, and caution is advised while breastfeeding. Severe toxicity may occur in cases of overdose, so immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is required if symptoms are suspected. This medication is for ophthalmic use only; ensure that the container tip does not come in direct contact with the eye during administration, and avoid sharing it with others. When storing, keep it in a sealed container to prevent air or moisture ingress, and store at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. This helps maintain the medication's effectiveness and prevents degradation.
