How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Administer 50 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride orally once a day before bedtime. Depending on the individual, if excessive sedation occurs with 50 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride, take 25 mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with specific allergic reactions. It may be risky for those with respiratory conditions, such as asthma attacks or chronic bronchitis, as it can cause difficulty breathing. Patients with glaucoma who have high eye pressure or those with benign prostatic hyperplasia experiencing urinary retention should also avoid this medication. This medication is inappropriate for individuals with narrowing or blockage of the gastrointestinal tract, and for children under 15 years of age. People with seizure disorders such as epilepsy, those with certain rare tumors, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Individuals who experience frequent or diagnosed insomnia should not use this medication. Patients with myasthenia gravis, those undergoing treatment, elderly individuals, those with allergic conditions or a history of drug allergies, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, vomiting, dizziness, headache, palpitations, difficulty urinating, or visual disturbances occur after taking this medication, use should be immediately discontinued and a healthcare professional should be consulted. If symptoms do not improve after 2-3 doses, a consultation with a doctor is required. It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, and if insomnia persists for longer than 2 weeks, a healthcare provider should be consulted. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept sealed in its original container.
