Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with primary glaucoma or those at risk of increased intraocular pressure. Individuals allergic to any of the components in this medication should also avoid its use. It is safest not to administer this medication to children under 4 years of age. Particular caution should be exercised in patients with Down syndrome, brain injury, spastic paralysis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, bladder dysfunction, and acute pulmonary edema. Patients with a history of severe side effects from belladonna alkaloids or atropine should be administered this medication with care. Long-term use of this medication may result in inflammation, congestion, or swelling of the eyes. In severe cases, it may cause respiratory depression and low blood pressure, so caution is advised. In children, coma or serious side effects could occur, necessitating greater care. During the use of this medication, you may experience blurriness or glare, and neurological symptoms such as dizziness or hallucinations may occur rarely. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, and constipation have also been reported. It is recommended to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery while using this medication and to wear sunglasses, as sensitivity to light may increase. For children, care should be taken to prevent the medication from contacting the mouth or skin, and hands should be washed thoroughly after use. This medication may raise intraocular pressure, so patients at risk for glaucoma should undergo intraocular pressure examinations and anterior chamber depth measurements. Individuals sensitive to anticholinergic medications may experience mental side effects and should exercise caution. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this medication if necessary, as its effects on the fetus or infant are not clearly understood. In case of overdose, symptoms may include flushing, dry mouth, dry skin, blurred vision, rapid heart rate, fever, mental disturbances, and convulsions. In severe cases, coma or respiratory distress may occur. If such symptoms appear, seek appropriate medical treatment immediately. When administering eye drops, take care not to touch the tip of the container to the eye, and it is best not to reuse a solution once it has been used. After use, close your eyelids and apply pressure to the tear duct to minimize systemic absorption and reduce side effects. This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent air or moisture ingress and kept at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
