Precautions
This medication contains the ingredients sitagliptin, dapagliflozin, and metformin, which are used for diabetes treatment.
Sitagliptin can rarely cause severe allergic reactions, so if you experience symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck, you should immediately stop taking this medication and consult a doctor.
Additionally, serious side effects such as acute pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas, have been reported. Therefore, if you experience symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, or nausea, you should visit a hospital immediately.
Dapagliflozin can reduce the body's fluid volume and lower blood pressure, so patients at risk for dehydration or hypotension should use it with caution. Patients with decreased kidney function should take it under regular monitoring.
Metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis, which can be life-threatening, so if you experience unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, muscle pain, fatigue, or abdominal pain, you should notify medical staff immediately.
This medication should not be administered to patients with severely impaired kidney function, acute heart disease, severe liver disease, or severe infections.
Also, if you are scheduled for surgery or will be undergoing tests that involve contrast agents, you should temporarily stop taking this medication and only resume after confirming that kidney function is normal post-surgery.
When used in combination with multiple medications for blood sugar control, there is a risk of hypoglycemia, so symptoms of hypoglycemia such as dizziness, cold sweats, and severe fatigue should be carefully monitored.
Genital infections or urinary tract infections may occur, so if related symptoms appear, immediate treatment is necessary, especially if there is a history of such infections.
It is important to regularly check kidney function and liver function while taking this medication, and consult medical staff immediately if abnormal symptoms arise.
