This medication is used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and benign gastric ulcers. It is also effective as maintenance therapy after the treatment of duodenal ulcers. It is used for the short-term treatment of symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, as well as for maintenance therapy after the treatment of erosive esophagitis. This drug helps improve ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, as well as gastroesophageal reflux issues.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before meals. It should be swallowed whole with at least half a cup of water. Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to certain ingredients or those who have previously experienced severe allergic symptoms. It is also safer not to use this drug in patients who are pregnant or taking HIV medications, certain antiviral drugs, etc. Patients with severe kidney issues or parathyroid dysfunction should also avoid using this medication. Patients with a history of drug allergies, poor liver function, the elderly, breastfeeding women, patients with heart or lung issues, and those with constipation should use this drug cautiously. Rarely, this drug may cause serious allergic reactions, blood disorders, liver dysfunction, skin diseases, pneumonia, nephritis, and other side effects, so consult a doctor immediately if any unusual symptoms occur. Mild side effects such as headache, diarrhea, and abdominal pain have also been reported, and long-term use may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency, increased fracture risk, or hypomagnesemia, necessitating regular check-ups. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may increase the risk of bacterial infections in the stomach, so inform healthcare personnel if diarrhea persists. Dizziness, drowsiness, and visual disturbances may occur, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. This drug may interact with other medications, especially when taken together with antiviral drugs, anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, and diuretics, so be sure to consult with healthcare professionals. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication unless necessary, in which case breastfeeding should be stopped. Safety for pediatric usage has not been established, so it should only be used for adults. The elderly should be cautious and may need to start at a lower dose due to diminished physical function. In case of overdose, gastric lavage or treatment according to symptoms may be necessary, and this drug is not removed by hemodialysis.
