Treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (including ankylosing spondylitis) and prevention of risk for gastric ulcers.
Naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, is used to relieve pain and inflammation in chronic inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. However, it should be noted that there is a risk of gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers in some patients. This medication is especially used for patients who do not achieve sufficient relief with low-dose naproxen or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. This medication helps reduce joint pain caused by arthritis and improves joint function, thus contributing to enhancing the quality of life for patients when used safely.
Adults: Take 1 tablet (Naproxen 500mg/Esomeprazole 20mg) orally twice a day. This medication should be swallowed whole with water without splitting, chewing, or crushing it. It is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals.
This medication may cause gastric bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day; consult with a doctor or pharmacist. The ingredients in this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, potentially leading to serious issues such as myocardial infarction or stroke, so individuals with a history or risk factors for cardiovascular diseases should use it cautiously. Serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastric bleeding, ulcers, and perforation may occur, particularly in the elderly or individuals with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. If gastrointestinal symptoms appear during use, seek medical attention immediately. Those with allergies to this medication or similar drugs, as well as those with a history of asthma, rhinitis, or nasal polyps, should not take this medication. Individuals with severe liver disease, kidney disease, heart failure, hypertension, or bleeding disorders should also avoid this medication. Those with a history of peptic ulcers, blood disorders, liver disease, kidney disease, heart dysfunction, hypertension, asthma, and similar conditions should use this medication cautiously, particularly elderly individuals who are at a higher risk of side effects. During treatment, adverse symptoms such as skin rash, shortness of breath, gastric bleeding, liver function abnormalities, and decreased kidney function may occur; if they do, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a doctor. This medication should not be used in the late stage of pregnancy as it may harm the fetus, and breastfeeding women should avoid taking it. Children under the age of 18 should not use this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted during prolonged use to check for abnormalities, especially in elderly or health-compromised individuals who should take the lowest effective dosage with caution. Additionally, this medication has many drug interactions; therefore, inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medications currently being taken, and do not combine it with certain medications. When taking this medication, do not chew or crush the tablet; swallow it whole with water, preferably at least 30 minutes before meals.
