Symptoms such as decreased concentration, memory loss, and dizziness can occur mainly in relation to the decline of mental function associated with arteriosclerosis. These symptoms may indicate cognitive dysfunction due to reduced cerebral blood flow, and proper treatment and management are required. This medication is used to improve symptoms related to such mental function decline.

How to take

Adult dose

As a Ginkgo leaf dry extract, take 240 mg once daily (1 tablet). It can be taken without regard to meals.

Precautions

This medication contains an extract from ginkgo leaves, and should not be taken by individuals with specific allergic reactions. Safety studies in children and adolescents are insufficient, so it is advised not to use it in individuals under 18 years of age. Pregnant women should not take this medication. Additionally, since it contains lactose, patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should avoid taking it. While taking this medication, it should not be used in conjunction with blood-thinning medications. This medication can affect the metabolism of other drugs in the body, so caution is needed when taken with medications such as calcium channel blockers or theophylline. Individuals at risk of bleeding or taking medications that increase bleeding should consult a specialist before use. Breastfeeding women should also consult a specialist before taking this medication. Furthermore, patients with epilepsy may have an increased risk of seizures while taking this medication, so caution is necessary. Due to the potential increase in bleeding risk while taking this medication, it should be discontinued at least 36 hours prior to any planned surgery.
