Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients with allergies to this medication or its components, as well as a history of hypersensitivity to other ointments containing polyethylene glycol, should not use this medication. Patients with renal disease should exercise caution. The polyethylene glycol component can be absorbed through broken or damaged skin and excreted via the kidneys, which may be hazardous for patients with impaired renal function. It is advisable for pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, to avoid using this medication due to insufficient safety data regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding, which may affect the fetus or infant. Long-term use on torn wounds or damaged skin should be avoided. There is insufficient evidence to suggest that long-term use may impair immune function in animal studies, so caution is warranted. Use of this medication may cause skin hypersensitivity reactions such as burning sensation, pain, itching, rash, erythema, etc. Occasionally, symptoms like nausea, dry skin, edema, and contact dermatitis may occur; instances of systemic allergic reactions have also been reported. If severe irritation or allergic symptoms appear on the skin, immediately discontinue use, cleanse the affected area, and consult a physician or pharmacist for alternative treatment options. When using this medication, it is important to conduct susceptibility testing to prevent the development of resistant strains and to use it for only the necessary minimum duration. Prolonged use may lead to excessive growth of microorganisms such as fungi, so caution is advised. If symptoms do not improve within 3-5 days of use, consult a physician or pharmacist to decide whether to continue using the medication. When applying to the face, take care not to let it get into the eyes. There have been no reports indicating that this medication affects the ability to drive or operate machinery. When used in conjunction with other medications, the antibacterial effect may diminish or the stability of the medication may decrease, so it is essential to consult with an expert. Pregnant or nursing women should not use this medication, and if breastfeeding, it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication. In cases of overdose, toxicity is very low, but excess application should be thoroughly washed off, and appropriate treatment for any symptoms should be obtained if necessary. This medication should only be applied externally and should not be used in mucous membrane areas such as the eyes or nose. Particularly, use in the nasal cavity may cause pain or dryness. It is advisable not to apply it to the site of central venous catheter insertion. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container may lead to accidents or poor quality, so care should be taken. Any remaining medication after treatment should be disposed of safely.
