Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
This medication is administered orally once a day, and it should be taken at the same time every day. If necessary, it can be administered twice a day. The maximum adult dose increase is 20mg per day, and it should be increased by 5mg per week over the first three weeks. First week (Days 1-7): 5mg once daily Second week (Days 8-14): 10mg once daily Third week (Days 15-21): 15mg once daily From the fourth week onwards: 20mg once daily
This medication should not be used in patients who have an allergy to its ingredients. It should not be administered to patients with very poor liver function or severely impaired kidney function. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures or epilepsy while using this medication. Serious side effects may occur when taken together with certain medications, so consultation with a doctor is essential. Patients with changes in the acidity of urine should carefully monitor their urine condition. Caution is also necessary for patients with uncontrolled heart diseases or hypertension, as the safety of this medication is not fully established. This medication contains specific dyes, so patients allergic to these components should be careful. Symptoms such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur, and patients should consult a doctor if symptoms are severe. This medication may interact with other drugs, so any other medications being taken must be disclosed. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to discontinue breastfeeding. Use in children or adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. In case of overdose, central nervous system symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms may appear, so immediate medical attention should be sought. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery while taking this medication. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer the medication to another container.
