Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia, patients with sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown origin, and those with renal disease. Additionally, those who have allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients, infants under 12 months old, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure symptoms should avoid using this product. During the course of taking this medication, it is important not to take other medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids together. Women receiving medical treatment, pregnant, or potentially pregnant should consult with healthcare professionals before taking this medication. Particularly, caution is needed as vitamin D can be secreted into breast milk and cause hypercalcemia in newborns. Individuals with heart or circulatory issues, decreased kidney function, low protein levels, those already taking cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones should also consult a specialist prior to use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing of the face, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occur during use, immediately stop taking the medication and consult healthcare professionals. Additionally, individuals deficient in folic acid should be cautious as taking high amounts of vitamin B12 may cause abnormal reactions in the blood. Taking an excessive amount of this medication may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, fluid overload, edema, or heart issues, and prolonged use may result in hypercalcemia or calculi. Particularly, care should be taken when combined with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene as it may increase serum potassium levels. Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and avoid teas containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, around the time of consumption. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and kept tightly closed. Finally, to prevent misuse and maintain product quality, it is critical not to transfer the medication into another container.
