This drug helps control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. It is especially effective in reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death due to cardiovascular disease in patients over 55 years of age with high cardiovascular disease risk (evidence of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, stroke, and end-organ damage due to diabetes) who have difficulty taking ACE inhibitors. Therefore, it is useful for maintaining cardiovascular health and preventing related complications in such patients.
