Precautions

This medication should be used with caution in women within the first three months of pregnancy or women who may become pregnant, as administering vitamin A in doses exceeding 5,000 IU per day may pose a risk of congenital malformations to the fetus. Also, individuals with allergic reactions to the ingredients in this medication, infants under 3 months old, or those with hypersensitivity to soybean oil, soybeans, or peanuts should not take this medication. Infants under 1 year old, patients undergoing medical treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants and children should always consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Particularly, patients with issues in lipid metabolism such as hyperlipoproteinemia, diabetic dyslipidemia, pancreatitis should use this medication with caution. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, skin itching, dryness, joint swelling, dyspepsia, diarrhea, or skin rash occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult medical staff. Additionally, caution is needed as menstruation may become heavier or prolonged bleeding may occur, and women taking estrogen-containing oral contraceptives should be aware of an increased risk of thrombosis. Postmenopausal women should be cautious as high doses of vitamin A may increase the risk of osteoporosis. It is vital to adhere to prescribed dosages and administration, and when administering to children, supervision by a guardian is necessary. Vitamin A is sufficiently provided in normal meals, so caution should be taken not to exceed 5,000 IU when used as a supplement. This medication may cause urine to turn yellow, affecting some clinical test results. Patients with a risk of lipid overload should monitor plasma lipid levels and adjust dosage as necessary; when receiving other lipid medications, consider the total lipid content.
