Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus or newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to the ingredients of this medication, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients undergoing renal dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver dysfunction, patients with biliary obstruction, diabetic patients with certain kidney diseases, and those with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not take this medicine. Patients with low blood volume or sodium, patients with impaired kidney function, patients with renovascular hypertension, patients with aortic and mitral valve stenosis, patients with primary aldosteronism, and those allergic to the pigment in this medication should use it with caution. While taking this medication, symptoms such as headaches and dizziness may commonly occur, and rare side effects such as dyspepsia, vomiting, liver function abnormalities, cough, muscle stiffness, skin rash, and blood pressure changes have been reported. If blood pressure drops too low or severe side effects occur, immediate medical attention should be sought. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, caution is needed as blood pressure may drop sharply when starting treatment if patients are on high-dose diuretics or have restricted salt intake. Additionally, as there is a risk of increased potassium levels in the blood, regular blood tests are recommended. Interactions may occur when taken with other blood pressure medications, certain diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid taking this medication, and especially during early pregnancy, it may also pose risks, so if planning to become pregnant or upon discovering a pregnancy, it should be discontinued immediately. Safety and effectiveness in children under 18 years have not been established. Elderly patients over 65 years may be more sensitive to this drug, hence caution is required. Patients with moderate to severe liver disease should not take this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and cardiac arrhythmias may occur, and if symptoms arise, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
