This medication is used for symptoms of cognitive decline due to atherosclerosis, such as decreased concentration, memory impairment, and dizziness.

How to take

Adult dose

As ginkgo leaf dry extract, take 240 mg once daily, 1 tablet. It can be taken regardless of meals.

Precautions

This medication contains an ingredient called ginkgo leaf dry extract, which should not be taken by certain individuals. People who are allergic to ginkgo leaf dry extract or any other ingredient of this medication should not take it. Additionally, insufficient safety studies have been conducted for children and adolescents, so this medication should not be taken by those under the age of 18. Pregnant women are also advised not to use this medication. This medication contains lactose; therefore, patients with a genetic inability to digest lactose should not take it. Caution should be exercised to avoid taking this medication with certain other drugs. In particular, using it together with anticoagulants or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that may increase the risk of bleeding can enhance its effects. Moreover, this medication can affect various drug metabolism enzymes in the liver, so careful attention is needed when taken with drugs such as calcium channel blockers or theophylline as their effects or concentrations in the body may change. Patients who are on medications that have a tendency to cause bleeding or at high risk of bleeding, breastfeeding women, and patients with epilepsy must consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. Since the risk of bleeding may increase while taking this medication, if surgery is planned, it should be discontinued at least 36 hours prior. Additionally, if symptoms do not improve or worsen, a physician should be consulted within 3 months, and if unusual symptoms such as gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, insomnia, or skin allergic reactions occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and a professional consulted. Severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis have been reported; if sudden severe reactions occur, medical attention should be sought immediately. This medication is not a treatment for hypertension, so hypertensive patients should not take this medication for special treatment purposes.
