Effectiveness in infection prevention through skin and wound cleansing and hand disinfection
This medication is an antimicrobial skin cleanser, used to clean general skin and wound areas effectively. It is also effective for hand disinfecting during surgical procedures and personal hygiene management. Particularly, it helps prevent infections by disinfecting the skin at the surgical site before surgery. It is widely used for various skin disinfecting and hygiene management.
1. General skin and wound cleansing: Wet the area to be cleaned with water, apply the minimum amount needed to the skin or wound, and gently wipe off. Rinse thoroughly with water. 2. Hand disinfection during surgery: Wet hands and forearms with water. Apply 5 mL of this product to hands and elbows and rub with a brush or sponge for about 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly under running water and repeat the process once more.
This medication contains chlorhexidine as a disinfectant, used to clean the skin or surfaces. Patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine should not use this product. It should not be used on sensitive areas such as the brain, spinal cord, or inside the ear, and care is needed on mucous membranes such as the vagina, bladder, or oral cavity. Be careful not to let it come into contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, immediately rinse thoroughly with clean water. Patients with a history of allergic reactions to other medications or with allergic diseases like asthma should use this product cautiously. It is safer for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid using this medication. This product is for external use only and must not be taken orally or injected. If accidentally ingested, appropriate measures should be taken, such as using milk or eggs to cleanse the stomach. It is advisable not to use this medication on extensive wounds or burn areas, and caution is particularly required with premature infants and newborns due to higher risks of side effects. If symptoms of allergy such as nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or redness appear while using, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. This medication may corrode upon contact with metal or glass, so it is best not to use it on ophthalmic equipment. Ensure to wash hands or tools that come into contact with the product, and using it with soap or organic substances may reduce its disinfecting effect. The solution should be stored at the appropriate temperature and pH, and diluted solutions should not be stored for long and should be used immediately. Finally, it is recommended to use an alcohol-containing solution during use to prevent microbial contamination.
