This medication is used to relieve fever and pain caused by a cold, headache, neuralgia, muscle pain, menstrual cramps, and pain from sprains. It is also effective for toothaches and joint pain, as well as rheumatic pain, helping with various pain management. Overall, it is used for relief from several types of pain.

How to take

Precautions

This medication may burden the liver, so individuals who consume several drinks of alcohol daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Additionally, if severe rashes, blisters, or allergic reactions occur during the use of this medication, usage should be stopped immediately and medical consultation is required. Care must be taken not to exceed a maximum of 4,000mg of acetaminophen per day, and it should not be taken together with other medications containing acetaminophen. Those allergic to this medication, or those with peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney disease, heart dysfunction, or a history of certain asthma conditions should not take it. It is also advisable not to take this medication while on certain drugs or consuming alcohol. If there are liver or kidney issues, or for elderly persons, pregnant or nursing women, and children, medical consultation is mandatory before taking this medication. If respiratory distress, severe allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, severe gastrointestinal disturbances, skin rashes, or other unusual symptoms appear during the use of this medication, stop immediately and seek medical help. For long-term use, regular blood tests and liver function tests should be conducted, and dosage adjustment or discontinuation should be considered in case of abnormalities. It is advisable not to take this medication with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and if pain or fever symptoms persist, consult a healthcare professional. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately for liver protective treatment, even if there are no symptoms, and it is safest for individuals with lactose intolerance not to take this medication. Store in a tightly sealed container out of reach of children, and it is preferable not to transfer it to another container.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pale skin → severe allergic reaction
  • High fever accompanied by severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain → severe cutaneous adverse reaction
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe

Mild side effects

Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, pruritic rash, rash, fixed rash, platelet dysfunction (prolonged bleeding time), thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, methemoglobinemia, cyanosis, high anion gap metabolic acidosis, chronic liver necrosis, acute pancreatitis, chronic hepatitis, renal toxicity, myocardial necrosis, abnormalities in the hepatobiliary system (increased ALT, AST)
