This medication is used to improve symptoms of cognitive decline such as decreased concentration, memory loss, and dizziness.

How to take

Adult dose

As ginkgo leaf dry extract, take 240 mg once daily, 1 tablet. Can be taken irrespective of meals.

Precautions

This medication contains ginkgo leaf dry extract, and certain individuals should not take it. Those who are allergic to ginkgo leaf dry extract or any other components of this medication should not take it. Due to a lack of sufficient studies on safety and effectiveness, this medication should not be taken by individuals under the age of 18. It is also safest for pregnant women to avoid this medication. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. During the use of this medication, it should not be taken with certain drugs. Particularly, co-administration with anticoagulants or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may excessively enhance the effects of the medication. Also, this medication may affect the metabolism of other drugs through various enzymes in the liver; hence, caution is needed when taken with calcium channel blockers or theophylline, as it may change the activity or excretion of those drugs. Individuals with bleeding disorders or those taking medications that increase the risk of bleeding should consult a professional before taking this medication. Lactating women also need to consult, as it is unknown whether this medication passes into breast milk. Caution is warranted if patients with epilepsy take this medication, as the frequency of seizures may increase. The risk of bleeding may increase during the use of this medication; thus, if surgery is scheduled, it should be discontinued at least 36 hours prior. If symptoms do not improve or worsen, consult a doctor within 3 months; if adverse reactions such as nausea, headache, insomnia, anxiety, or skin rash occur, consult a professional immediately. Caution is advised if symptoms such as dizziness or itching are reported while taking this medication. This medication is not a treatment for hypertension, so patients with high blood pressure should receive separate treatments and should not rely solely on this medication to control high blood pressure. Finally, this medication should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children and stored in its original container to prevent quality degradation or misuse.
