This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to this medication or its components. It should not be used in patients with thyroid dysfunction, particularly those with nodular goiter or Hashimoto's thyroiditis. It should not be administered to patients with impaired renal function, renal failure, or neonates and infants under 6 months old. This medication should also not be used in patients with herpetiform dermatitis or those undergoing radioactive iodine therapy, either before or after. Severe patients, such as burn victims or those with a history of thyroid disease, and patients with a history of renal failure should use this medication with caution. Rarely, allergic reactions such as respiratory distress or urticaria may occur; if these symptoms arise, usage should be stopped immediately. Skin pain, itching, rash, erythema, dermatitis, etc. may occur, and in severe cases, it is advisable to stop usage. Special care should be taken when large amounts are used for burn treatment, as electrolyte imbalance, metabolic acidosis, or renal dysfunction may result. Long-term use may affect thyroid function and may alter blood thyroid hormone levels. In cases of excessive dosing or prolonged contact, metallic taste, increased salivation, burning sensation in the throat and mouth, skin reactions, and digestive disorders may occur. Caution is needed as excessive use of this medication can lead to iodine toxicity. If used shortly before childbirth, the newborn's eyes and skin should be thoroughly cleaned to ensure no residue remains. This medication is a conservative treatment; if symptoms do not improve, surgical intervention should be considered. When used on extensive burn patients, careful observation of hydration, renal function, and acid-base status is required, and usage should be stopped if any abnormalities arise. Thyroid scintigraphy should be performed with a 1-2 week interval from the use of this medication, and changes in thyroid function should also be monitored. As this medication contains iodine, caution should be taken to avoid causing thyroid dysfunction with excessive dosing or long-term use. When there is an infection, wounds should be cleaned with saline before using this medication, and if an allergic shock occurs after use, immediate medical attention should be sought. Patients undergoing lithium therapy should avoid regular use of this medication, as the efficacy may be diminished when used with some disinfectants or enzyme treatments. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication extensively or over a long period, and monitoring of the newborn's thyroid function is advisable. The absorption of this medication may affect thyroid function test results. In cases of overdose, severe symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, and coma can occur, so immediate medical treatment is necessary. Care must be taken to avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. Do not mix this medication with other agents, and promptly clean the affected area after use.
