Precautions

This medicine contains an ingredient called Drospirenone, which can elevate potassium levels in the body. Therefore, patients with kidney, liver, or adrenal issues, or those at high risk of hyperkalemia should not take this medication. If taking blood pressure medications or diuretics that can increase potassium levels, blood potassium levels must be tested at the beginning of administration. This medication may increase the risk of blood clots, so those with a history of thrombosis or cardiovascular diseases should exercise caution. It is advised to discontinue use during a certain period before and after surgery, and to avoid starting it within four weeks postpartum. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific conditions, such as severe liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction, adrenal dysfunction, history of cervical cancer, history of liver tumors, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, or those allergic to this medication's components. Additionally, patients at high risk for thrombosis, those with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, family history of breast cancer, history of depression, epilepsy, gallbladder disorders, endometriosis, asthma, or nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously and require regular check-ups and monitoring as advised by a doctor. While taking this medication, various side effects such as acne, irregular bleeding, headaches, breast pain, weight gain, menstrual cramps, nausea, vaginal bleeding, and decreased libido may occur. If abnormal symptoms persist or are severe, medical advice should be sought immediately. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. It is also not recommended during breastfeeding, as it may pass in small amounts into breast milk and affect the infant. This medication can interact with other drugs, so if there are other medications being taken, it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist. In particular, when taken with drugs that induce or inhibit liver enzymes, contraceptive effectiveness may decrease, or the risk of side effects may increase. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible, but if the next dose is close, it is better to wait for the next scheduled dose. In case of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting or bleeding may occur, and there is no specific antidote, so treatment should be provided according to symptoms.
