Patients taking this extended-release formulation of 10/100/1000 mg should take one tablet daily. Precautions

This drug is a combination antidiabetic therapy that contains three components: sitagliptin, dapagliflozin, and metformin. First, the sitagliptin component may rarely cause serious allergic reactions, so if symptoms like skin rash, shortness of breath, or swelling of the face or neck occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Acute pancreatitis may also occur, so if there are severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting, visit a medical facility immediately. Second, the dapagliflozin component may lower blood pressure due to reduced fluid volume and could affect kidney function; therefore, caution is required in patients with impaired kidney function or dehydration. Genital infections and urinary tract infections may increase, so rapid treatment is required if relevant symptoms appear. In severe cases, rare skin infections like Fournier's gangrene may occur; thus, inform your doctor immediately if you experience pain, swelling, or redness in the genital area or perineum. Third, the metformin component may rarely cause a serious condition called lactic acidosis, so seek immediate medical attention if symptoms like sudden shortness of breath, muscle pain, fatigue, or abdominal pain occur. Patients with impaired kidney function or severe liver disease should not take this medication. This drug should not be used in specific patient groups, such as those with moderate to severe renal impairment, acute heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, severe infections, scheduled surgeries, pregnant women, etc. While taking this medication, regular tests of renal and liver function should be conducted, and immediate consultation with healthcare professionals should occur if any symptoms of hypoglycemia or infection arise. Additionally, excessive alcohol consumption or severe dehydration should be avoided during treatment with this drug, and care should be taken with irregular food intake or vigorous exercise as there is a risk of hypoglycemia.
