Precautions
This medication should be used with caution in women in the first three months of pregnancy or those who might become pregnant, as doses of vitamin A above 5,000 IU per day may lead to risks of congenital malformations. Patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis, or kidney diseases should avoid this medication. Additionally, individuals with known allergies to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months old, patients with kidney stones, severe renal failure, and allergies to soybean oil, beans, or peanuts should avoid taking this drug. During the use of this medication, caution should be exercised to avoid using phosphate salts, calcium salts, oral tetracycline preparations, antacids, or levodopa simultaneously. Those receiving treatment from a physician, or with a history of oxaluria, gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular issues, kidney dysfunction, hypoproteinemia, diabetes, gout, or kidney stones should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, and young children should also consult with specialists before use and be aware of potential adverse effects from excessive intake of vitamins A and D. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, joint swelling, diarrhea, hypotension, or pulmonary edema develop while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Also, prolonged menstrual changes or bleeding, as well as tolerance or neuropathic symptoms during long-term high-dose use, require caution. Strict adherence to the prescribed dosage and regimen is necessary, and vegetable sources should adequately provide vitamin A, so supplementation should not exceed 5,000 IU daily. While on this medication, avoid beverages containing tannins such as green tea or black tea, as they may affect blood glucose test results. Patients at risk of fat overload should regularly monitor plasma lipid levels, and dosage adjustments may be needed when using other lipid-lowering agents based on total lipid content.
