How to take

Adult dose

As sildenafil, the recommended dosage is 25 to 50 mg taken orally about 1 hour before sexual activity, and in some cases, it may be taken 30 minutes to 4 hours prior to sexual activity. The dosage can be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerability.

Precautions

This medicine can dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure; therefore, patients taking nitrate preparations or NO donors should not use this medication. Patients with cardiovascular disease must consult a doctor before using this medicine, and it should not be used in cases where sexual activity is not recommended as it may impose a burden on the heart. This medication may temporarily lower blood pressure, so patients with underlying cardiovascular conditions should be careful. Additionally, patients with specific diseases such as arrhythmia, heart failure, angina, low blood pressure, or hypertension, or pigmentary retinopathy, should use this medicine with caution, and if an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical attention is required. Because there have been reports associated with certain cardiovascular adverse reactions, administration should be carried out after thorough evaluation of cardiovascular status, and if sudden vision loss or hearing decrease occurs, use should be immediately discontinued and a physician should be consulted. Elderly patients and those with reduced liver or kidney function should adjust the dosage accordingly, and since many medications interact with this drug, it is essential to inform if there are any medications being taken. This medicine is not for use in women or children under the age of 18, and should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment based on symptoms is necessary, and renal dialysis is not effective for drug removal. Side effects such as headaches, flushing, dyspepsia, visual disturbances, and dizziness may commonly occur while taking this medicine, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Lastly, since this medicine is intended for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, it does not provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases and should not be combined with other erectile dysfunction treatments.
