Improvement of symptoms in moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
Administer 1 time daily orally, and take it at the same time every day. The maximum daily dosage increase is 20 mg, and for the first 3 weeks, increase the dosage by 5 mg per week. Week 1: Administer 5 mg once daily for 7 days. Week 2: Administer 10 mg once daily for 7 days. Week 3: Administer 15 mg once daily for 7 days. From the fourth week, administer 20 mg once daily. For the elderly, administer 20 mg once daily from age 65 and older. For patients with kidney impairment, dosage guidelines for moderate and severe cases apply.
This drug should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to its components or have severe liver or kidney dysfunction. Patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures, and those taking other drugs that act on NMDA receptors, should use this drug with caution due to an increased risk of side effects. Particular caution is also required for patients with factors that cause changes in the pH of the urinary tract or those with recent heart disease. When taking this drug, it is important to monitor for side effects such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension. There may be interactions with other medications, so it is advisable to consult a physician or pharmacist, especially when taking NMDA antagonists, antipsychotic drugs, muscle relaxants, anticoagulants, etc. If pregnant or breastfeeding, administration should be done cautiously considering the effects on the fetus or newborn, and it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years of age, hence it is advisable not to use this drug in this population. In case of overdose, central nervous system symptoms such as confusion, drowsiness, hallucinations, and seizures may occur, so immediate medical attention is required for appropriate treatment. This drug may impair the patient's reaction speed, so special caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. When storing, keep in a safe place out of reach of children, and do not transfer to another container.

Store this medication in a tightly closed container to prevent air and moisture exposure. The suitable storage temperature is room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Avoid storing in places that are too hot or too cold.
