This medication helps treat chronic inflammatory joint diseases like chronic polyarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also effective in relieving pain caused by osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It helps reduce painful swelling and inflammation that occur after surgery or trauma, aiding in recovery. It also plays a role in the treatment of infections accompanied by pain and fever from inflammation. It is used for various inflammatory diseases and pain relief.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 300 mg per dose of dexibuprofen orally 2 to 4 times daily. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg of dexibuprofen per day.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in people who regularly consume more than three standard drinks of alcohol per day; therefore, it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. This drug may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so patients with a history of heart disease or stroke, or those with risk factors should take particular care. Serious issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation may occur, particularly in the elderly or those taking it long-term. Do not take this medication concurrently with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as this may increase the incidence of side effects when taken with certain medications. During use, dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, severe liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, heart failure, hypertension, or asthma should not take this medication. Pregnant women in their 6th month or later should avoid this medication as it may harm the fetus. Patients with blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, hypertension, a history of allergies, elderly individuals, and children (over 6 years old) should consult healthcare professionals before use. If severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, breathing difficulties, severe gastrointestinal symptoms, liver function abnormalities, or kidney function decline occur during use, immediately stop taking the medication and consult healthcare professionals. This medication should be used for the shortest duration and at the minimum dosage possible, and regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are necessary for long-term use. Particularly after the 20th week of pregnancy, there is a risk of fetal kidney dysfunction and oligohydramnios, so caution is advised, and ultrasound examinations to observe amniotic fluid should be performed if necessary. In case of overdose, seek treatment at a healthcare facility immediately, even if there are no symptoms, and keep out of reach of children, storing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
