Improvement of moderate to severe scalp psoriasis
This medication is used for the treatment of moderate to severe scalp psoriasis.
Apply this medication once daily to the dry lesion area only and leave it on for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, moisten the treated area with water, massage to create foam, and rinse thoroughly. Treatment should not exceed 4 consecutive weeks, and the total amount should not exceed 50g (50mL) per week. It can be used repeatedly under the direction and supervision of a physician to control exacerbation.
This medication should not be used on areas with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals. People who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients should not use it. Caution is required for patients with eczematous otitis externa who have a perforated eardrum, as healing may be delayed when using this medication. This medication may delay skin regeneration if used on areas with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite. It is advisable not to use this medication for scalp infections, perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, etc. The use of this medication should also be avoided for itching around the anus or genitals. This medication should not be used in infants under 24 months of age. It should not be applied to the eyes or eyelids as it poses a risk of eye diseases such as glaucoma or cataracts. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously and consult a physician if necessary. Children and the elderly, as well as patients with liver dysfunction or diabetes, should also be careful when using this medication. Prolonged or excessive use of this medication may result in serious infections or symptoms of immune suppression, so adherence to the usage duration and dosage is essential. If eczema or dermatitis is accompanied by skin infection, appropriate antibiotics or antifungals should be administered before or concurrently with this medication. As the corticosteroid ingredients used topically may be absorbed into the system and affect hormonal functions, regular examinations may be required when used over extensive areas or with occlusive dressings. Once symptoms improve, discontinuation of use should be done as quickly as possible; if symptoms worsen or do not change, use should stop. Particular caution should be taken when using on the face, neck, genitals, or overlapping areas of skin, as side effects like skin atrophy or erythema may occur. When psoriasis patients use this medication, careful monitoring is needed due to the possibility of recurrence, resistance, or severe skin reactions. If visual impairment symptoms occur while using this medication, it is essential to consult medical personnel and seek ophthalmological care immediately. Pregnant women should limit the duration and area of use with this medication, as prolonged or large-scale use may increase the risk of low birth weight in fetuses. Nursing mothers should use this medication for the shortest possible duration and in minimal quantities, avoiding direct application to the nipple or breast, as there is a possibility of transmission through breast milk. Children are at a higher risk of side effects due to better absorption of the medication in their bodies compared to adults, so prolonged use should be avoided, and it is advisable to monitor their condition weekly during use. The elderly are at a higher risk of side effects, so special caution should be taken in case of large quantities or prolonged use. In case of overdose, symptoms of excess cortisol or adrenal function suppression may appear, so the dosage should be gradually reduced according to the physician's instructions. Care must be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and this medication should not be used for purposes other than treatment, and the occlusive dressing method should be used only under the supervision of a physician. If the treatment area is extensive, care should be taken not to exceed 20% of the total body surface area, and hands should be washed thoroughly after use. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it in its original container to prevent misuse or quality degradation.
