Precautions

This drug can cause vasodilation, which may lower blood pressure. Therefore, it is essential to consult a physician when taking this medication, especially if combined with nitrates or NO donors, as there is a risk of dangerously low blood pressure. Patients with heart or vascular issues should have their cardiovascular status thoroughly evaluated before taking this medication, and sexual activity that may strain the heart is not recommended. Additionally, this drug can cause sudden drops in blood pressure, resulting in dizziness or fainting, so caution is advised. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as untreated prolonged erection can lead to permanent damage. This drug is contraindicated in patients with specific heart diseases, hypotension, hypertension, pigmentary retinopathy, and those who have recently experienced severe cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions. It is also not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age or for women. Due to many drug interactions, especially with CYP3A4 inhibitors like ritonavir, dosage adjustment may be necessary. Side effects such as headaches, flushing, dyspepsia, dizziness, and visual disturbances can occur, and if symptoms worsen, consultation with a doctor is advised. Caution is also needed when driving or operating machinery due to possible side effects of this medication. This drug should only be used as a treatment for erectile dysfunction and does not have a preventive effect against sexually transmitted diseases. In case of overdose, severe side effects may appear, so the prescribed dosage must be adhered to. Store this medication out of reach of children and avoid transferring it to other containers.
