This medication is used to relieve pain caused by denture irritation or oral ulcers.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply a small amount to the painful area using a cotton swab or clean hands. If pain persists for more than 20 minutes, an additional application of this medication can be made with intervals of more than 3 hours thereafter.

Precautions

This medication must not be used by individuals who are allergic to this medication, its ingredients, or amide-type local anesthetics. Additionally, infants under 5 months should not use this medication. Before using this medication, patients should consult with a doctor, dentist, or pharmacist, especially if they are receiving treatment from a doctor or dentist, have liver or heart problems, or are taking medications such as cimetidine or propranolol. Women who are taking diuretics that cause hypokalemia or are pregnant or possibly pregnant should also consult before use. It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, and parental guidance and supervision are required when children use this medication. It is especially recommended not to use this medication for pediatric dental treatment. If this medication is used in conjunction with cimetidine or propranolol, or if it is used while taking diuretics that cause hypokalemia, the use should be stopped immediately and consultation with a doctor, dentist, or pharmacist is essential. It is advisable to bring this medication's leaflet during the consultation. Caution should be exercised because cross-reactions may occur in case of allergy to amide-type local anesthetics. Moreover, excessive use of this medication can lead to severe side effects such as dizziness, cyanosis, hypotension, muscle tremors, convulsions, coma, irregular breathing, cardiac arrest, and bronchospasm. Overdose may suppress the sensation of the throat and larynx, making swallowing difficult. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is best to store it at room temperature between 1°C and 25°C to maintain its effectiveness safely.
