This medicine is used for various joint disorders, such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation caused by trauma or surgery. It is effective as an adjunctive treatment for infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. It is used to improve these symptoms, positively affecting the daily life of patients.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 300 mg by mouth 2 to 4 times a day as dexibuprofen. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg per day as dexibuprofen.

Precautions

This medicine should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist before use by individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol per day, as there may be an increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Particularly, there is a possibility of serious vascular issues such as myocardial infarction or stroke, so individuals with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should exercise caution. This medicine can cause serious issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation. The risks increase, especially in the elderly or in those taking the medication for a long time; therefore, individuals with gastrointestinal issues should consider carefully before use. Individuals with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases, and those allergic to aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not take this medicine. This medicine should not be taken with aspirin, other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high-dose methotrexate. Taking these medications together may significantly increase the risk of side effects or decrease their efficacy. Breastfeeding should be discontinued, or medication should be halted during use, and caution should be exercised during driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Individuals with blood disorders, liver or kidney diseases, high blood pressure, heart failure, or a history of hypersensitivity reactions must consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If severe skin rashes, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, jaundice, or acute kidney failure occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult medical personnel. This medication should be used at the minimum effective dose and for the shortest duration possible; regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are necessary for long-term use. Avoid use after the sixth month of pregnancy as it may affect the fetus, and those who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult before taking this medication. If overdose occurs, seek medical attention immediately, even if no specific symptoms appear. This medicine should be stored out of the reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place.

Drug interactions

Do not take this medicine with aspirin, other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or high doses of methotrexate. Corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants (such as warfarin), baclofen, and immunosuppressants (such as cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus) should be monitored in conjunction with this medication.

This medicine may be sensitive to air and moisture, so it should be stored in a sealed container. It is also important to store it at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C to maintain its efficacy.
