View approved original text

This combination of Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil is used when blood pressure control is inadequate in patients with essential hypertension. These medications help effectively manage high blood pressure by dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. The use of the combination contributes to stable blood pressure control, reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications. Consistent use and regular blood pressure monitoring are important, and better effects can be expected when used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle. This combination is useful for the treatment of essential hypertension.

Patients with a history of allergic reactions to this medication or similar drugs, pregnant or nursing women, patients with severe hypotension, and those with significantly impaired heart and kidney functions should not take this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume, kidney function issues, severely impaired liver function, and certain heart valve diseases should use this medication cautiously and monitor their condition closely before and after administration. Due to the blood pressure-lowering effects of this drug, dizziness and lightheadedness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may cause electrolyte imbalances in the body, so it is essential to regularly check levels of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and other electrolytes in the blood. Patients taking this medication may experience increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight, so it is advisable to avoid sun exposure and to take appropriate protective measures if necessary. Using this medication in combination with certain drugs may enhance blood pressure-lowering effects or increase the risk of side effects, so it is crucial to consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking other medications. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy are not established. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney and liver function, so start with a lower dose and adjust carefully.
