How to take

Adult dose

The dosage of this medication is determined based on each patient's current treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerability, not exceeding 2.5 mg of Linaagliptin (3.34 mg of Linaagliptin Besilate) and 1000 mg of Metformin two times a day. This medication is taken twice daily with meals. 1. If not previously treated with Metformin: The initial dosage is 2.5/500 mg of this medication two times a day, one tablet each time.

Precautions

This medication contains two components and is used to aid in blood sugar control. Firstly, this medication should not be administered to patients with poor kidney function. If kidney function is severely impaired, the medication can accumulate in the body and cause serious side effects. Additionally, this medication can cause a rare but life-threatening metabolic disorder known as lactic acidosis, so it should be avoided in patients with conditions such as severe infections, dehydration, acute myocardial infarction, or heart failure. Patients with an allergy to any components of this medication, patients with type 1 diabetes, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication. There is a risk of hypoglycemia during use, so blood sugar levels should be carefully monitored, especially when taking it with insulin or drugs from the sulfonylurea class. This medication should also be used cautiously in patients with impaired liver function or severe gastrointestinal disorders, and it should not be administered to patients with acute alcohol intoxication or symptoms of alcohol dependency. Furthermore, this medication can lower vitamin B12 levels, so periodic blood tests to check vitamin B12 status are necessary for long-term use. If iodine contrast agents used in radiological examinations are administered, this medication must be discontinued before and after the test, and kidney function should be checked. Patients about to undergo surgery should stop taking this medication 48 hours prior to the procedure and resume after renal function has normalized. If persistent abdominal pain, severe joint pain, or skin blisters or rashes occur during use, medical consultation should be sought immediately. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant are recommended to control blood sugar through insulin therapy instead of this medication. Older adults may experience decreased kidney function, so regular kidney function tests should be conducted, and dosage should be adjusted as necessary. The safety of this medication has not been established in children and adolescents, so it is not recommended for patients under 10 years of age. Finally, this medication increases the risk of lactic acidosis when taken with alcohol, so it is advisable to avoid drinking.
