Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For patients receiving dapagliflozin 10 mg and linagliptin 5 mg, one tablet can be administered once daily regardless of meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients with allergies to the active ingredients or excipients, those with type 1 diabetes, patients undergoing dialysis, or those with a history of myocardial infarction should not take this medication. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with insufficient body fluid volume or kidney function issues. This medication can lower blood pressure or affect kidney function, so the patient's condition should be thoroughly checked before and during administration. When used with other medications that can induce hypoglycemia, there is an increased risk of hypoglycemia; therefore, dosage adjustments of insulin or insulin secretagogues may be necessary. In cases of moderate to severe heart failure, the use of this medication is not recommended, and caution should be exercised with mild cases. Rare side effects such as acute pancreatitis or vesicular skin diseases may occur during the use of this medication. If continuous abdominal pain or skin abnormalities appear, immediate consultation with a physician is required. This medication may increase the risk of genital infections or urinary tract infections; therefore, prompt treatment is necessary if infection symptoms arise. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function should be particularly cautious, as there is a higher risk of reduced body fluid volume and low blood pressure when using this medication. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, administration should be discontinued immediately. Monitoring of blood sugar control is necessary during the use of this medication, and attention should be paid to symptoms, as serious metabolic abnormalities such as ketoacidosis may occur. This medication may interact with other drugs. If you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your healthcare provider. There is no specific antidote for overdose, so if overdose is suspected, visit a medical facility immediately.
