Precautions

This drug helps in controlling blood sugar levels. However, it should be noted that a rare but serious side effect called lactic acidosis, which involves excessive accumulation of lactic acid in the body, may occur, requiring caution. Especially in patients with poor kidney function or liver problems, serious infections, dehydration, or acute heart disease, this drug should not be used. Additionally, individuals with allergies to any of the ingredients in this drug should avoid taking it. This drug may cause hypoglycemia, so blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently, especially when used with other hypoglycemic agents or insulin. Excessive exercise, skipping meals, or alcohol consumption can also increase the risk of hypoglycemia, so caution is advised. Elderly patients with reduced kidney function or those with kidney disease must have regular kidney function tests and should discuss with their physician whether or not to take this drug. Adverse reactions such as acute pancreatitis or skin blistering, similar to bullous pemphigoid, may occur, so if sudden abdominal pain or skin changes occur during treatment, inform your doctor immediately. This drug should be swallowed whole and not chewed, crushed, or split, and the tablet coating may appear in bowel movements, but this is normal. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid using this drug, and those planning to become pregnant should consult their doctor.
