Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this medication or ergot alkaloids, those with acute myocardial infarction or acute bleeding, those taking sympathomimetic medications, those with very slow heart rates, those with unresolved intracranial hemorrhage, and those with orthostatic dysregulation should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with mild bradycardia or impaired kidney function should be cautious when using this medication. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dry mouth may rarely occur. Liver function abnormalities may also lead to elevated liver enzyme levels. Symptoms such as dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, blood pressure changes, drowsiness, headache, tinnitus, fatigue, and insomnia may also occur rarely. Allergic reactions such as rash, hives, itching, facial flushing, and warmth may appear, requiring caution. This medication has a blood pressure-lowering effect, so if taken with other antihypertensive drugs, blood pressure may drop too low, requiring frequent monitoring of blood pressure. Furthermore, it may affect uric acid metabolism, so caution is advised for those with a history of gout. After taking this medication, caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. This medication is metabolized by a specific enzyme in the liver (CYP450 2D6), which may interact with other medications related to this enzyme. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety is not certain. Additionally, in nursing mothers, this medication may be excreted in breast milk, so it is advisable to avoid taking it or to discontinue breastfeeding if taking this medication. Elderly individuals may have decreased physical function, so dosage reduction and caution are necessary. Safety in children has not yet been established, so it is best not to use this medication in children. If this medication is taken in excess, blood pressure may temporarily drop, thus requiring measurement and appropriate actions. Finally, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and it should be kept tightly closed in its original container. Transferring to another container may lead to misuse or degradation of quality.
