Precautions

This medication should not be used by certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this medication or ergot alkaloids, those with acute myocardial infarction or acute hemorrhage, those taking sympathomimetic drugs, individuals with very slow heart rates, those who have not completed hemostasis after intracranial hemorrhage, and those with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension should not take this medication. Additionally, individuals with slightly slow heart rates or reduced kidney function should take this medication with caution. When taking this medication, digestive system symptoms such as indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dry mouth can occur infrequently. Liver enzyme levels may increase due to liver function abnormalities, and cardiovascular symptoms such as dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, hypertension, blood pressure drop, and increased serum uric acid can also occur. Mental side effects may include drowsiness, fatigue, headache, insomnia, and tinnitus, and rarely skin rashes or itching can occur as hypersensitivity reactions. Taking this medication with other antihypertensive agents may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effects, so regular blood pressure monitoring is necessary. Also, it can affect uric acid metabolism, so individuals with a history of gout or hyperuricemia should take caution. Since drowsiness or dizziness can occur after taking this medication, care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so there may be interactions with other drugs that share the same metabolic pathway. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of taking this medication, and for nursing mothers, it is advisable to avoid administration or discontinue breastfeeding. Older adults may have diminished physiological functions, thus caution is warranted, including potential dose reductions. The safety of this medication for children has not been established, therefore use is not recommended. In case of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily decrease, so careful monitoring of blood pressure changes is important followed by necessary actions. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container to prevent quality degradation or misuse.
