Treatment of allergic conjunctivitis
Allergic conjunctivitis is an allergic reaction that occurs in the conjunctiva of the eye, resulting in symptoms such as itching, swelling, or redness of the eyes. This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis and reduce inflammation to improve eye discomfort.
Adults: Instill 1 drop per dose, twice daily.
Children aged 12 years and older: Instill 1 drop per dose, twice daily.
This medication is an eye drop solution containing epinasthine hydrochloride, used to relieve allergy symptoms in the eyes, such as allergic conjunctivitis. This medication should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to epinasthine or any additive. Adverse reactions related to this medication were very rarely observed in clinical trials, and most appeared as mild symptoms such as eye irritation or conjunctival hyperemia. The formulation contains phosphates, which may rarely cause corneal calcification in patients with severe corneal damage, requiring caution. The safety of long-term use beyond 8 weeks has not been sufficiently established, so caution is advised for prolonged use. There may be temporary blurring of vision after instillation, thus activities such as driving or operating machinery should be avoided until vision clears. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as it may affect the fetus. Breastfeeding women should carefully consider the necessity of treatment and whether to continue breastfeeding, as this medication can be transferred to breast milk. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been adequately confirmed in children under 12 years of age, so its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, temporary pupillary constriction may occur, but this is reversible. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and to prevent contamination, the tip of the container should not come into direct contact with the eye. After instillation, close the eyes or press on the lacrimal sac area to improve absorption of the medication, and if the medication comes in contact with the skin of the eyelids, wipe it off immediately. If using with other eye drops, instill them with at least a 5-minute interval. Store this medication out of the reach of children and do not transfer it to another container to maintain quality. It is safe to discard any remaining solution 1 month after opening.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication may be sensitive to air and moisture, so it must be stored in a sealed container. It is recommended to maintain a storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. This will help preserve the medication's effectiveness for a longer time.
