This medication is primarily used to improve constipation and facilitate the smooth excretion of bowel contents.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

As glycerin, a single dose of 15g (30ml) is administered rectally.

Children's dosage

For children aged 6-11 years, a single dose of 10g (20ml) is administered rectally; for ages 1-5 years, 5g (10ml) is administered rectally; for infants under 1 year old, 2.5g (5ml) is administered rectally.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients with a hole in the intestines or in those suspected of having one. It should also not be administered to patients with intestinal bleeding, severely weakened bodies, or those with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Particular caution should be exercised in patients suspected of having acute abdominal pain, those with inflammation or wounds in the intestines or anus, severely ill heart disease patients, diabetic patients, those with severe hard constipation, newborns and young children, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, patients with paralyzed intestinal function, those with rectal bleeding symptoms, and elderly patients. Use of this medication may cause an allergic reaction that can result in skin rashes and other symptoms, so it should be stopped immediately if these occur. Abdominal pain, sounds in the abdomen, discomfort, itching or unpleasant sensations in the anal area may occur. Changes in blood pressure or dizziness may also be seen. When using the medication, it is essential to adhere to the prescribed method and dosage strictly. When administering to children, a guardian should observe and assist closely. This medication should not be used for extended periods as dependency may develop, and its effectiveness may diminish. Especially in older adults, care should be taken as bodily functions may be reduced, and dosage should be adjusted accordingly. This medication is only for rectal use and should not be taken orally. Caution should be exercised when inserting to avoid injuring the rectal mucosa, and if any bleeding occurs, usage should be stopped immediately. Unused medication should not be reused and should be discarded. The patient's condition should be continuously monitored, and if abnormal symptoms occur, administration should be stopped immediately. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, in a cool place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
