This medication is effective for functional dyspepsia caused by esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis, duodenitis, and ulcers, such as symptoms of abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting. It also helps alleviate abdominal discomfort caused by irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is used to improve habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal disorders such as constipation and diarrhea. It helps relieve symptoms of various gastrointestinal-related diseases and restores normal digestive function.

How to take

Adult dose

Trimebutine Maleate: 100-200 mg orally, three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used by individuals with a genetic disorder that prevents lactose digestion. Rarely, problems in the digestive tract may occur when taking this medication, with symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, audible gas in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, dry mouth, or tingling sensation in the mouth. Additionally, symptoms of palpitations may occur infrequently, so caution is necessary. Neurotoxic symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may occur rarely. It may affect liver function, causing temporary elevated liver enzymes, so individuals with liver health issues should be cautious. Allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur, so if such symptoms appear, stop taking the medication and consult a doctor immediately. Pregnant women or those who might become pregnant should only take this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been fully confirmed.
