This medication helps effectively lower LDL-cholesterol levels when used alone in adults at high risk of coronary artery disease. However, it does not adequately control triglyceride levels in cases of combined hyperlipidemia where triglycerides are also elevated. Therefore, it is suitable for treatment focused on reducing LDL-cholesterol, playing an important role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular events. This medication is used for the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases.
