This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by Irbesartan monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is to be taken once daily, 1 tablet, with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure is not controlled, the following dosages are administered: - 150/5 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Irbesartan 150 mg monotherapy. - 150/10 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either Irbesartan 150 mg monotherapy or this medication 150/5 mg.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if administered to pregnant women; therefore, use should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific allergic reactions, severely impaired liver function, history of angioedema, severe kidney problems, or diabetic nephropathy. Elderly patients or those with high serum potassium levels, mildly impaired liver function, or heart disease should be monitored closely while taking this medication. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, skin rash, swelling, and palpitations may occur; thus, patients should consult with healthcare professionals immediately if any unusual symptoms arise. Patients with liver or kidney problems should consult with their physician before taking this medication and have regular liver and kidney function tests. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive medications, diuretics, potassium supplements, and some diabetes medications, so it is essential to inform about all other medications being taken. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and breastfeeding should either be stopped or discussed with a physician while on this medication. Children or elderly patients over 75 years of age should use this medication cautiously as its safety and efficacy have not been fully established, and especially in the elderly, starting with a lower dose is advisable. In case of overdose, there may be a significant drop in blood pressure or irregular heartbeats, and immediate emergency treatment should be sought if any abnormal symptoms occur. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and it is important to avoid transferring it to other containers to maintain its quality.
