Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this product or its ingredients, those with thyroid function issues, patients with poor kidney function, infants or newborns under 6 months, patients with herpetic dermatitis, and those undergoing radioactive iodine treatment should not receive this medication. Severe patients or those with a history of thyroid disease or kidney failure should exercise extra caution when using this product. This medication may rarely cause allergic reactions, skin irritation, rashes, itching, and other effects. In severe cases, use should be discontinued, and skin ulcers or contact dermatitis may develop. Using large amounts may lead to issues such as electrolyte imbalance, decreased kidney function, and metabolic acidosis, so caution is needed. Prolonged use may affect thyroid function, and changes in blood hormone levels may occur in some patients. Using this medication in large doses or for extended periods may result in discomfort in the mouth or throat, skin reactions, digestive disorders, and breathing difficulties. If used immediately before delivery, the newborn's eyes should be thoroughly washed and bathed to ensure that this medication does not remain on the skin. This medication is a conservative treatment; if symptoms do not improve, other treatment options should be considered. When used in patients with extensive burns, careful observation of adequate fluid supply, kidney function, and metabolic status is necessary, and use should be discontinued if the condition worsens. It can affect thyroid function tests; thus, it is advisable to have an appropriate interval between testing and administration. As this product is an iodine-containing agent, there is a risk of thyroid dysfunction with large-scale use. In cases of suspected infection, the wound should be cleaned with saline before use, and if sudden allergic symptoms occur after use, immediate medical attention should be sought. Patients undergoing lithium treatment should avoid using this medication, and the effectiveness may decrease if used with certain disinfectants or wound healing products. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication for prolonged or extensive periods, as it may affect the thyroid function of the fetus or newborn. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if it enters the eyes, they must be rinsed immediately with clean water. Do not mix this medication with other agents, and ensure that the affected area is clean and disinfected before use. If this product stains clothing, it should be cleaned immediately, and soap may weaken its disinfecting action, so it should be thoroughly rinsed off before use. When using electrosurgical devices, care must be taken to avoid this medication getting trapped between the skin and the electrode plate. When storing, it is best to keep it in a tightly closed container, away from direct sunlight, and to use synthetic resin containers rather than metal ones.
