The recommended dosage for this medication is 25 mg once daily. It can be taken regardless of meals. For patients with renal impairment, the following applies: - Mild renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≥50 mL/min): dose adjustment is not necessary. - Moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30≤ ~ <50 mL/min): administer 12.5 mg once daily. - Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min) or patients requiring dialysis.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with an allergic reaction to the active ingredient or other components. It is not appropriate for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, or type 1 diabetes, and insulin treatment may be necessary if rapid control of blood sugar is required. In patients with severe infections, before and after surgery, or with severe trauma, insulin injections may be needed, making this medication unsuitable. Caution is warranted in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment or those on dialysis for end-stage renal disease. It is not recommended for patients with heart failure classified as NYHA functional class III-IV. Caution is advised in patients taking sulfonylureas, those with pituitary disorders, adrenal insufficiency, malnourished individuals, those with irregular meal intake, individuals who have engaged in strenuous physical activity, and those consuming excessive alcohol. This medication may cause side effects such as nasopharyngitis, headache, upper respiratory tract infections, and rarely pancreatitis or hypersensitivity. Symptoms of hypoglycemia may occur, requiring dosage adjustments if used in combination with insulin or other hypoglycemic agents. If symptoms of acute pancreatitis are suspected, the medication should be discontinued immediately and medical advice should be sought. In case of severe hypersensitivity reactions, use must be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment should be received; special caution is needed in patients with a history of angioedema due to other similar medications. If symptoms of liver dysfunction appear, testing should be performed immediately, and the medication should be discontinued if necessary. Patients experiencing severe arthralgia or blistering skin disorders while on this medication should inform their healthcare provider immediately. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised against the use of this medication, and safety in pediatric patients has not been established. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustments due to common renal function decline. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe hepatic impairment. In cases of overdose, appropriate treatment and monitoring should be provided under medical guidance, as drug removal via blood dialysis is limited. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to prevent quality deterioration or misuse.
